Families are at the heart of Lords and Villeins. Their profession dictates their activity in the economy and the type of business they can run. Once you have assigned them a plot of land and built their house, they will do so almost entirely autonomously, while managing their supplies, setting aside products to pay taxes, trading with other families and caravans for supplies, and maximizing their profits.

Your role is to guide and regulate the economy. Balance supply and demand, secure critical resources, and maintain sustainable growth. Lords and Villeins offers you a sandbox with deep simulation and a wide variety of strategies to control it! From a fully communist economy, where all production is taxed and redistributed from the warehouse, to a free market with little to no intervention.

Logistics will test your management skills. As your settlement grows, you must consider distances, storage locations, private markets, and housing while thinking about the terrain and its natural resources to fully optimize the productivity of each villager.

Flexible customizable gameplay allows you to create exactly the game that suits your tastes. Between a wide variety of game modules and difficulty sliders, you can customize the experience and focus on the gameplay elements you enjoy the most. Although Lords and Villeins is primarily an economic game, in which military conflict plays only a small role, there are many options to explore and use.
