Beyond the Dune is a parody of the epic science fiction novel and film Dune, written and directed by David Luch. Set in the distant future in a feudal interstellar society in which noble houses that control individual planets are subordinate to a padishah emperor, Dune tells the story of young Paul Atreides, whose noble family takes control of the desert planet Arrakis.

Since this planet is the sole source of the "spicy" concoction, the most important and valuable substance in the universe, control of Arrakis is a welcome - and dangerous - enterprise. The story explores the layered interplay of politics, religion, ecology, technology, and human emotion as the forces of the empire oppose each other in a struggle for control of Arrakis and its spice.
